Very nice drinking. Was expecting it to be a little tight and harsh (note a reasonable expectation) and I couldn't have been more wrong. Really nice, but drink now.

Tasted alongside the 2009 and the 2010. The cork broke. The wine was medium to dark garnet in colour and threw a notable amount of sediment. It offered dried berries, raisins, garrigue, cracked black pepper, eucalyptus and smoke on the sweet-scented and very raisiny nose. On the palate, the wine was equally raisiny and showed dried berries, raisins, plum, garrigue, black pepper, liquorice and glycerin, with grainy, medium- to medium-plus tannin and good length. The medium-bodied wine was a little alcoholic on the end, and more developed than expected. I know that this estate is worshiped by many, but I am unable to appreciate the overripe, raisiny and alcoholic style. Drink up.

Lovely, mature CNdP, with bright cherry notes and some sweet herbs and some floral notes. A good match for a rich sausage based cassoulet. Gentle acidity and fully resolved tannins, so drink up!

Bottle opened in the course of two hours. The initial tannin dropped away and the fruit opened, but not over ripe and held a good structure.. Color was very good as was the bouquet and palate Easily finished by two in one sitting and displayed a good Chanteauneuf character. Went very well with food.

No formal notes, but very good. Lots of red fruit on the nose. Excellent QPR--I think I paid less than $30 for this beauty!
