  Drink now with almost any meal. Good taste and structure. Easy drinker. Sweet spot for this Carignane-dominant blend: the Zinfandel adds softness, dimension.

  Nose: plum, orange peel, and almonds
  Palate: tangy cranberry and black pepper
  Tasted with: filet mignon sandwich from Flemings
  Overall: disclaimer that I struggle with Ridge carignane wines because I generally think they are too tart and can be polarizing. This one is a little less tart and was much better with heavier food. I prefer it coler than cellar temperature. Consensus at my house: 87 points
