  • Rather more mature than the prior bottle I tried (see my 6/15/2013 note), this had a medium-dark gold color. The wine had a buttery nose of caramel and freshly cut hay. The palate was broad and rich, with a slight lemony tickle on the back of the tongue. This finished clean but with persistence. Tasty, but not quite as fresh and lively s the prior bottle, this seemed far more advanced and closer to the end of its optimal drinking window. As there's no accounting for bottle-to-bottle variation, probably best to drink soon in order to be on the safe side.

  • Medium-pale straw color. This has a clean, floral nose incorporating sweet aromas bubblegum and lychee. On the palate this is elegant and lithe with good acidity, incorporating flavors of cactus underpinned by a flinty minerality. This finishes long and strong, indicating further aging potential. Lovely stuff.
