In my cellar since release. Decanted a couple hours before we started tasting it but better with more air. I would never have expected that this wine would have improved since my last taste in 2018 but it has. This is decidedly mid-weight but bright sparkling medium garnet with little sign of age. Bright cherries and mineral undertones define the attack with layers of earthy and savory notes through the finish. Quite persistent and yet elegant. Silky smooth texture while still having energy. A joy to drink.

In my cellar since release. Decanted at 4:30 and drunk starting about 8:30 with grilled steaks. Dense dark garnet, a bit darker than the usual Chianti Classico even for a Riserva. Nice balance, good structure but not tannic. Lovely nose that is slightly savory and full of dark red fruit. Easy to drink with food or by itself. Among the 4 of us drinking it disappeared quite quickly. Finish longer and richer than my previous note indicated. Probably at or near peak.

Henry Comes to Tucson: 2001 Tuscany night (Tucker household): Much larger framed and darker than the Montevertine. Dense and extracted, with darker fruits, and a little bitter chocolate. Rich and full bodied but with outstanding balance, and with enough acidity to carry it very well. Still youthful. 92

This wine still has structure to it, nice tannin, nice fruit. Amazing longevity. Could go another 5 years easy.
