  • Full yellow-gold with faint amber. Some apricot on the nose at the start, but with time, the nose is more earthy than fruity. Later on, some minor cream comes into the picture, as do dry stalks. In general, the nose is introverted. There is more apricot to be found in the mouth, as well as something akin to ginger. A little tropical fruit, but it's low-toned due to the earthy nature of the wine. Menthol after-taste. Appropriate weight and a laudable interpretation of the feinherb style. It's certainly one of the riper 2004's I've opened from the Mosel, yet tasting so very fresh that it had the faintest prickle of spritzig. Fully-flavoured, round and with a lovely mouthfeel. Gentle, yet bearing its teeth a little on the finish as if to warn against an undeservedly low rating. No chance of that. Very good plus and a regret I don't have any more left.

  • Golden yellow in colour. This feinherb really hits the right notes, not too sweet, not too dry, quite complex with mango, papaya, mint, pineapple, slate and lime on the nose and palate. Great acidity and intensity through the long finish. Great now but will last many years (A-/A).

  • Light yellow/golden in colour. Wonderful nose of mainly stone and stonefruit: slate, lime, mango, nectarines and pineapple. Similar notes on the medium bodied, honeyed, pure and very racy palate. Electric acidity compared to a 'normal' spatlese, definitely less sweet, and beautifully balanced. Outstanding wine! Ready now, but should last and improve many years yet (A-).
