Did anyone have an issue with a ridiculous amount of coarse sediment in this wine? Photo uploaded. This shouldn't happen at this stage and frankly, the particles were so large it seems like sloppy winemaking of whichever batch this was. Update written 5-6-24: A friend who was at the tasting at which this (and other) Talbot bottlings were sold to us told me he had sediment in his glass there! He's not a "wine guy" so he didn't know any better. I won't name the distributor who held this tasting, but he is a charlatan of the highest order.

Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with red plum, black pepper, leather and tobacco. Medium (+) taste of red plum, black pepper, cloves, cedar, leather and tobacco. Long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Medium body. A very good St.Julien. Drink in five to fifteen years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

Fruit forward bouquet w cassis, plum and roasted french oak tones. Less fruity on palate as transition goes right into harsh tannins and perfumic alcohol punch. Still some cassis but palate gives more pine and forest floor. Ok to drink now, but could benefit from cellaring.

Forward, soft and fruity, the wine is medium-bodied, and already tasting just great due to all of its up-front, sweet, earthy, spicy, savory-edged fruits. Drink from 2022-2031.

Medium-bodied, forward and already showing earthy red fruits, spice and leafy aromas, the wine is soft, open and accessible, with a sweet red currant finish. This will be great to enjoy on release while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop. 88-90 Pts
