  • Deep ruby red with high optical density and high specular reflectivity. Aromas of oak spice, cherry, strawberry, and an earthy aromatic and flower-infused soil. Fresh and with some deeper tones, it shows a robust if simple nose.

On the palate, medium minus acidity, medium bodied, and with a decent density that is firm and juicy. Tannins are present but not overpowering- just enough structure to make it have some weight without loosing the easy, juicy character. Flavours of strawberry and tart cherry on the attack, with a green streak that adds interest. This evolves to an herbal midpalate with spices and savoury fruit. Nothing overly complex, but certainly interest beyond surface depth. The final transition shows sweet tobacco liquorice candy give way to a medium finish of cherry skin, dill, and clean smoke.

This is a bargain of a wine, with an elegant old-world approach. Balanced well and easy to drink, this one has an honest nature that makes up for the lack of complexity with a purity of spirit and a zesty easy-going profile. Especially love the controlled use of American oak. Just enough to complement what is there and no more. Ready to drink now.
