Dark ruby in the glass. Dark cherry on the nose, salty mushroom and black pepper spice rounded by firm tannins and pear acidity. Medium long earthy, spicy finish. Somewhat one-dimensional but this is what I signed up for. Hold some bottles for a few more years, otherwise I personally love this for everyday drinking.

after 4-5 days e: surprisingly crimson/ruby red rim. ink dark center n: fresh red fruits med intensity. ink and some burn p: seems mellow but builds over time. silky med tannins. has some class to it. right bank 50/50 merlot/cab franc and the cab franc takes over. Finish is long but quality is not as good as length. Black plum and sour peach but they are shy. Needs much time

RHW 2019 Bordeaux Tasting Not fair to judge these as they've not come close to opening up. I'll just say 2019 looks to be a winner, as advertised. I'll reserve judgment for a decade or so! (This Smith Haut Lafitte wine could be considered more ready to drink than the others, except for the Bel Aire, which isn't on the same level)
Pichon Lalande -96 - tight as drum! Needs a decade Smith Haut Lafitte -93- ok now, better in 5+ years Tertre Roteboeuf -95- ok now, better in 7-10+ Bel Aire Jean etc Gabriel - 90 -ready now, better over 5. ***I'll buy a case or two of this unknown to me wine. Wine Advocate says it's on Trotanoy slope. Whatever, it's really nice!
