Rich cherry, berry and cedar notes in the nose with hints of rosemary. Well structured with firm tannins. Blackberry and black pepper on the palate. May well open up and develop more complex notes in time.
Charming perfume, typical of Margaux, showing primarily red fruits and berries, with purple berry accents, flower garden, sweet herbs, and layered terroir elements. Bright and lifted attack and middle, turning gripping at the back. Generous finish. Excellent structure will allow the wine to evolve for several years, perhaps a decade. A strong showing and among the finest second wines from Bordeaux houses sampled in recent memory. Improvement seems possible, if not likely. 91-92.
