I've always considered this bottling to be one of the better QPR's in NAPA (Yountville SVD, Russell Bevan, etc.) @ ~$50/bottle. But only if you like bell pepper!

Short decant and enjoyed over the next several hours. Very aromatic with blueberry, blackberry, cassis, floral, cedar and leather. Full bodied, rich and lush. Pushes the limits but doesn't cross the line. More blueberry, blackberry, cassis, toasted oak and chocolate blend seamlessly. Long finish with tannins showing up.

Blueberry aromatics on the nose. On the palate blackberry & blueberry compote, with cherry cough drop, mint, and hints of leather. Great QPR given the new French oak and single vineyard site.

Phenomenal nose of blueberry compote with deep cherry and oak underneath. Maybe some mint to that keeps things fresh. Palate retains quite a bit of energy, with acid and soft structure giving the wine nice flow. Finish returns to depth of fruit that starts blue and eventually transitions to oaky vanilla espresso.
Love this wine from Elyse. The extraction and density is definitely turned up, but the blue fruit character of this vineyard keeps things elegant and refined. Will buy more. Phenomenal value.
Day 2: Oak has softened, the fruit has become more integrated, layered, and well defined. Absolutely phenomenal.
Drink now with a 3 hour decant or hold for a few years.

Consistent with prior notes. So good and fleshed out with 2h of air. Not convinced it’s a long term aging wine but it’s lovely to drink now.
