  • Loved the wine for what it is--fun, light fizzy red wine but with some complex notes--not like Labrusscos at all--went great with bbq. Absolutely delightful.

  • For the record, this was a 1L bottle, not a 750. Grape is Grignolino.

Purple to pink in color. Great carbonation with a persistent frothy head. We didn't stir this one up, but it was still cloudy from the start. By the end of the bottle it was downright thick. Nose was raspberry and cranberry to me. Palate was more tart cranberry and reminiscent of a sour beer or tart cider.

Day two was less carbonated and Charles noticed some rose in the nose.

Not a homerun from Cellario but a fun bottle.
RWSTEW an ELYCOHN (below) had great takes on this.

  • Refreshing, simple and very clean pet nat. No funk, pure fruit for the most part with some minerality and pleasant bubbles. Imagine carbonated cranberry juice if there was ever a cranberry ripe enough to taste pleasant without added sugar.

  • Please don’t judge my wine preferences from my recent reviews. I am a member of a weekly natural wine tasting and so most of the wines I have been consuming fit into that category. This is a pet-nat wine made from grigniollo grapes from the northwest of Italy near the Mediterranean Coast. Obviously this was not intended to be considered a monumental wine nor cellared for years. Bottled in a clear 1 L. bottles as a homage to the local wines made in the area table wine. It is surprisingly clear without sediment and the color is a pale ruby. The nose is retrained and mostly strawberry and cherry.
The mouth presents with restrained effervescence but little more than the red fruit already noted on the nose. There is some minerality and soft tannins which do provide a bit of complexity. A nice substitute for hard cider or Prosecco.

  • A frankenwein of many parts which don’t fit together very well. All Grignolino, it’s a murky brick color. Ripe berries, moderately tannic, sweet, and high alcohol. Clunky.
