  • I had one foot in the dog house today so I decided I needed to raid the cellar for something decent. This CdP turned out to be the Get Out of Jail ticket I needed. Cork sniff test showed evidence of a wine ready to come out to play, and confirmed by the beautiful red fruit nose, very fragrant even at cellar temp. Thirty minutes of air warming up a bit this was really singing. 80/20 blend of Grenache/Syrah, elegant, Montmorency and black cherry, red raspberry. Garrigue started showing up on the nose and in the glass, expressed minerality from the large flinty pebble terroir (Silex) lends this CdP a freshness and energy many CdPs just don't have. This wine would complement a wide variety of foods, enough stuffing to go with heavier meals but also deftness to work with lighter fare. We had sushi, not the perfect complement but it still was fine. I just wished it lingered a bit longer in the finish but other than that an outstanding drinking experience. Firmly in its prime drinking window.

  • Outstanding. Loved the purity of fruit on display here. Red toned with loads of cherry, raspberry puree and flinty minerality. A bit of garrigue. So delicious.
