I don't know if anyone out there has ever eaten a rhubarb pie, but this is the vinous equivalent of that. When I bought this, I thought how could you go wrong with a wine made by some of the best in Oregon pinot. This is an example of the sum not being equal to the parts. The color is a decent medium garnet ruby. Not much on the nose, even after a 1 hour decant, rhubarb and some earthy mushroomy dirt. Rather thin in the mid-palate. No real serious finish. Doesn't live up to the label's hype.

There is a very rich strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit. There is also a savory and smoky component to the wine that makes it interesting. At first there was a little bitterness to it, but it was balanced out. Unfortunately a stemmy flavor did show. This wine is a little sharp and bitter to my palate. Definitely not for me despite a very nice flavor profile.

Nice fruit without being a bomb. Cherry with black fruit. Not much acidity or tannin structure. But a very nice table wine.

Definitely drinking very nicely now. Decanted for 2 hours, enjoyed. Opened a second bottle.

Cherry and pomegranate notes with mild spiciness, not really a long finish but a fairly food friendly wine, typical light oregon pinot.
