  • This drank decidedly more dry than my last bottle and seemed to be in a better place. This was super tasty and definitely reflects a bit of the warmth of the 2019 vintage in the fruit character and ease of the wine.
Ripe pears and juicy apples fill the palate while notes of deep smoky minerals provide a sense of place and seriousness.
This offers a ton of pleasure today and is going to be hard to keep my hands off.

  • This wine is legally dry, but there is a certain richness of fruit and to me drank like a feinherb on this particular evening.
The nose showed notes of baked apples, smoke, and cardamom. The delicious palate showed a touch on the rich side with a slightly viscous feel and even though it was not racy, there was nice balance and with air it seemed to gain freshness. Notes of apples and pears on the mineral palate that finished with a nice zing of ginger spice.
I am interested to see how this wine evolves with bottle age as this is one of my favorite vineyards.
