  • golden yellow color. Brioche nose, little hint of oxidation, which carries over into the first sip. This bottle shows a bit richer and slightly more advanced than the bottle a few weeks ago. Never really came around. Unfortunate given the level of the last bottle.

  • golden color. Little brioche on the nose. Still a lot of freshness, good acid, ripe orchard fruits. After 30 minutes it’s settled down and become a little richer. A fun bottle of champagne.

  • We were very pleased with this wine last summer, but we didn't manage to find another bottle until this one, the production was very limited for this cuvée (fewer than 1,000 bottles), so we don't know if we will be able to drink it ever again. It is a Le Mesnil-sur-Oger chardonnay from the 2005 vintage, which was a warm but very concentrated year that we think that is fantastic at the moment. The mushroominess dominates here, with a very pronounced note of button mushrooms; lots of chalk, ripe lemons and peaches; fresh butter, cream and milk, moldy rind cheese; honey, caramel, coffee, vanilla, cookies, hazelnuts, walnuts liquor; some spices such as clove and black pepper, a hint of fireplace; brandy and aged Sherry wine.
Very dense and creamy with a lively acidity; the wine feels mature but not in a heavy way, it is in a very lovely moment but we think that it could be easily aged for at least another 5 years and it will be fantastic as well, but the issue here is to finding more bottles!

  • After a long time searching, we finally tried this cuvée; it exceeded our expectations, a very elegant wine. It immediately showed some mature Côte des Blancs characteristics with fresh butter, fresh cream, young cheese, yogurt with blueberries, fresh cream with vanilla, raw walnuts, and honey; ample ripe fruits such as ripe peaches, mature citrus fruits (lemons, pineapple), confit pears, and quince; quite mineral with wet stones, oxidative on the finish with mushrooms and fresh truffle.
What a fantastic representation of a wine from this region of Champagne with some bottle age; not at all ‘raw’ despite a fairly recent disgorgement date (less than a year), with a good acidity; concentrated and full on the palate with a dense, creamy texture. Delightful!
