  • A beautiful product showing great strength and very typical nuits saint George style.

The color is a brilliant luminous ruby.

The nose has an intense (medium+) and variegated bouquet. Fruity notes, raspberry, strawberry, are well integrated with the oak character. No carbonic notes. The wine does partially new barrique, causing the intensity of the oak to be present while not being overpowering. On the end of the nose, we can detect meat and leather notes.

The wine is muscular and powerful from the very start. The acidity (medium+) is denied through the whole sip, while the tannins are powerful (medium+) and just slightly green. The wine has medium+ body and medium alcol. This is not a shy wine: the palate is fully engaged, the wine is chewy, with strong character that requires food pairings on the heavier side.

In the aftertaste, oak notes are the main drivers.

This is a great product at a price that, given the current state of burgundy, is very competitive. It may not be a hit with those who are looking for extreme finesse, but this is a benchmark nuits saint George style that will never fail against a meaty, heavy main course.

  • Very interesting bottle that definitely delivers for the price. Aromas of the wine were slightly more complex and expressive than on the palate, which was a little bit lacking in structure maybe.

Wine drinks very well right now but should definitely still be good in a few years as well.
