Chardonnay tasting (@Private location, Stuttgart): Glass: Zalto Burgundy Tasted blind, not decanted. Clear, pale golden color. Fine oxidative nose with lots of fresh pressed apple juice. On the palate very lean, oxidative style, a bit musty. Elegant, beautiful grip and a nice mineral core. Long, fruity finish. Still very young and not yet at its peak. 91++

Pale straw. A lightly oxidative nose recalls the Jura, but there's plenty of pretty dried apple, fresh lemon and white flower notes underneath. There's not a ton that says Chablis - much less Vau de Vey - here, but the appeal is obvious. On the palate this is medium bodied but with tons of verve, richness and persistence. The acid isn't particularly high but there is a lot of nervy citrus fruit that gives this a lip smacking appeal. I'm as anti-natty as they come, but this is downright delicious.

A vibrant tingly streak of acidity. Nice balance of acidity, freshness, and ripeness. Enjoyable now, with upside. 92-93.
