This is yet another wine for the not so serious wine drinking public, who thinks they're drinking wine, when they really aren't, lol.....Every now and then I succumb to the notion that somebody out there in wine country should be able to make a decent cheap white (other than Kendall Jackson) and I buy a few bottles to try. Yes, this does have a 'hint' of butter and cream, so I guess the name IS technically accurate......but that's about it. It is light in the mouth with ZERO depth of fruit and ZERO acidity. How much could it cost to throw a few handfuls of tartaric acid into the tank??? (they might not do that down in Monterey but 90% of Napa winemakers do it every day) Answer: 5 cents. I'd much rather pay $12.85 for the experience than $12.80, and get this empty semblance of a wine, completely devoid of any soul. Flatter than a pancake.........I guess this COULD be an 'off ' bottle, but somehow, I doubt it.
Appearance- clear gold, medium viscosity. On the nose- peppers, grass, something spicy as well... black pepper? Palate- Fresh cut grass, black pepper, green apple, bready. Medium+ acidity, medium+ body and as the name suggests quite creamy. Pear and pineapple, too Finish- smooth, and no bitter transition. Flavor lasts probably 10 seconds.
A great example of chardonnay. Nothing crazy or outlandish, a weekend drinker kind of wine.
