Pretty impressive. 13.75%. Pepper, bramble and blackberry. Exceptionally juicy and fresh with truly lovely acidity. Zin isn't really my thing, but this was delicious, approachable and vibrant.

Decanted 2 1/2 hrs. Quite drinkable, but no great shakes on opening. After three or four days on the counter (with no N2) it came together into something very interesting. Deep and beautifully balanced, a profound bottle.
Lesson: this needs lots of air, or probably better yet, more age.

Tasted on day two with about half the bottle remaining. Nose is incredibly pure and fruited: blackberries, brambles, black cherry, blueberry skin, a little prosciutto fat. More D&R than zinfandel per se, but doesn't come across as one of their mourvedres. More pure crunchy fruit on the palate: black cherries, blueberries, some plum, This is a pure pleasure to drink, no rough edges. I'm sad this is my last bottle, but on the other hand I think it's at peak--I can't imagine anything improving.

Bright and boysenberry-ish, and best on day 3. This bottle comes off more D&R than Zinfandel, if you know what I mean, but I think it may just be that everybody else is making Zinfandel wrong.
