Ok, well this seems to have swung back into form. I remember a lot of heat and green fruit with elevated acidity in earlier bottles. This one had better acidic balance and a purer pitch to the fruit. Tangerine, firm peach and strawberry, sans the burn and underripe flavors from before. Lesson for me is, even the dN rosies might need time in bottle to hit their stride. 4+9+14+7= 84

Retail $15. Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache from Paso Robles. True Rosé. Cameron Hughes has a long story which I shall not recount here. Short version: this is a rosé that he purchased in bulk from a producer in Paso that was looking to move some juice. Yowza. While it seems that Cameron's main focus is on Napa/Sonoma Cabernet. this rosé is fantastic. Pale salmon pink in the glass with lovely red fruit (strawberry, cherry) and minerality. Nice. The palate is subtle, even close to subdued with ample fruit, a brilliant acidity, and a formidable finish. Nice.

Still delicious and just the perfect crispness. This is an easy drinker with or without food.

Flavorful finish. Perhaps lacking in acidity.
