13.5% alcohol. The label differs from those in the database. Very short cork of reasonable quality. Pale straw colour, pure and cristalline. The nose is attractive with yellow flowers and some apple. The mouth is vivid with a slight tingly sensation at the back end. Very refreshing with fairly good varietal characterisation. Plenty of zip but maybe a slight lack of substance, especially in view of the announced age of the vines. PS: I see that the previous taster found evidence of oak. No such perception for me on this occasion.
This is a strange one! It’s rich and broad and has definitely seen some time in oak - and I find Chenin to be exceedingly delicate when it comes to wood - but there’s a flinty minerality to it which is kind of beguiling. A touch herbal on the nose, too. It’s broad and textured with zesty acids and finishes lees-y and bready. It sort of reminds me a South African version approach to Chenin (which remains the forever enigmatic grape) but...made in the Loire. For $22 CAD, a wine this complex and weirdly compelling? I’ll take it.

Greenish hue. At first the nose is all stony minerality and lemons. With time in glass comes more complexity; lots of flowery notes and apples.
Strong acidity on the palate. And a quite powerfull and structured feeling with a salty finish.

Med gold. Tangy acidity, fruit that's a bit austere, but a bracing minerality makes up for it. Nice example of Anjou Blanc.
