  Concentrated purple in the glass... Clear and leggy with luminescent rim. 5
  
  Just a bit of dust over sweet blackberry pie, lavender, sage and olive oil, some iron and slightly meaty nose. 12
  
  Palate is still young but takes me to my happy place. A big wine, but not surly. Dark fruit and red berries mediating the tension between acidity and tannin. Liberally seasoned with savory flavors as mid palate takes over. 16
  
  Red fruits hang on through the finish as wet stone and pepper compliment. 8
  
  Good window opening with 2 hour decant and should easily last for a decade if your palate goes to more savory expressions of Syrah.
