Really ripe fruit on the nose. They really got that ripe. Wow. New worldly ripe. But still with some tension on the palate. So really red fruited on the nose, and quite tense on the palate.

Zoom tasting session with Justin Girardin. All wines double decanted beforehand. Generous air time in glass container also. Tasted in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of brambles, dark red cherries, boysenberries, violet, some sotny minerals with air. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, low tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sour red cherries, slightly darker red cherries, background of brambles and stony minerals. Touch of licorice. Juicy medium+ finish. Genteel disposition and pleasing mouth-feel. Good quality. Very drinkable Santenay village. Should open up nicely as it develops over the next 2-3 years.

Tasty at $25 but not much more.
