Red and black cherry fruited, wild strawberry, and peppery flavors. Crunchy, and rustic tasting (from the Blaufrankish). Oak is very much in the background.

Tastes like what you’d expect from a cold climate Pinot/blaufrankisch blend. Strawberries, pink flowers (peonies?, some mild funk and hints of spice. M- to light body, M to M+ acid, M- tannin. Good for $20 and I like the light aromatic style.
We had this with the red pepper soup and olive bread recipe provided by ravines along with Comté and Gabietou cheeses. Good pairing all around.

Retail $19. DIAM10 closure. A blend of Pinot Noir and Blaufränkisch (about 60%-40%). I have never been a fan of Blaufränkisch. Even though it is a vitis vinifera variety, it reminds me of the hybrid Chambourcin and that is not a good thing. For me, Blaufränkisch is always a bit stinky and funky and while I normally love the funk, this is on a different level. This wine, however, is blended with Pinto Noir and while the Blaufränkisch overpowers the Pinot, there is enough Pinot to mitigate the offensiveness of the Blaufränkisch. I love Ravines, and this wine is a lot better than I have portrayed it, but I really do not understand why add the Blaufränkisch. Good fruit, plenty of funk, really tart. Very good, but...
Really loving this vintage - just great fruit and acidity - made for such a versatile wine to take to a BYO where it covered everything from a spicy veg appetizer, to pasta, to chicken.

Decent wine, with an interesting character from the Blaufrankish, but not a wine I’d pursue.
