Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 92.1 points

  • Leave this to breathe, got left behind the first night as we had a petit clos apalta and a great ribera (atauata) from 2010 to enjoy and then heaps of champagne later. Got a bit worried how one dimensional this showed that evening as I have another 10 bottles downstairs. But on day 3 it was wonderful (on day 2 I was very busy recovering from day one so no notes), it had been open 48 hours and became much more balanced and enjoyable. Next bottle I will open in the morning or the day before.

  • This wine is very good. Still so young and with great potential. Red cherries, red currants, blueberry, blackberry. 93-94

  • Sehr süffig, trotzdem kommt der Bordeaux – Blend gut durch. Schönes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis

  • Day 1: Decanted and tasted over the course of c. 3 hours. Pure blackcurrant on the nose and the palate and very little else; very primary in all aspects. Tannins not the problem here, possibly in a dumb phase? Feels like I've committed a tiny bit of infanticide.

Day 2: Hurrah! Leaving this overnight has certainly improved it. More rounded black fruit which isn't just blackcurrant and some graphite too. Nose all but gone, but you know what? I'll take it. Let this one sleep for another 2 or 3 years and drink through to 2032.

  • 🏅 Rating 90/100 (4,0⭐)

Dark ruby with purplish hue. Nice juicy claret style. Modern classic. Young Bordeaux. Ripe and rich with dark fruits, cedar wood, tobacco. Sandy tannins. Great alternative to Left bank Bordeaux in a riper, more sunny style. All fruit is sweeter and more ripe. Well integrated alcohol which doesn't stand out (14,5%)

Blend: 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot & 21% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc.

Low yielding vines. Fermented in wood and steel. Elevage 22mo in 37% new French oak barriques.
