  • Let stand upright for three months.
It looked a touch cloudy, but thought that was due to the sediment plastered on the side of the bottle. Left a glass in bottle of sediment.

5 hours after decant had nose of dusty raspberries, tart of lime, but overall a very muted nose.

Palate was chalky with excellent tart of lime, elegant etheric texture, raspberries, cherries. It was pure and excellent cool climate Nebbiolo.

The finish built and built lending a chalky grip. Hibiscus and lime started to show more. Fine teas and elegance of a tea garden cooled by delicate spring ocean breezes. Reminded me of the grounds of the De Young (San Francisco) on a cool morning.

    This is a keeper.
I don't see this changing much for another 10 years.

With pan seared lamb chop, after another hour, fresh pour from decanter wafted more intense aromas of dusty raspberry and cherry with some tart, and faint earthen herbs.

Palate was softer and chalky with tart raspberries. Excellence and elegance of Nebbiolo that I very much prefer to Burgundy.

This was a perfect compliment to the lamb.

When I see a wine with this guy's label on the back, I buy.
Rare Wine Company carries a good deal of Neal's imports.

Why do women make the best wine?
Not sure if that's true, but historically, going back to Sumeria, it's the case.

  • Bright, pristine floral coated alpine cherry fruit. Lithe and crisp with firm but not dominant tannins. This is much more open than a bottle three years ago and is in the early part of a drinking plateau. It's OK to dig in now but it should continue to develop nuance and I imagine the fruit will sweeten.
