Nine months after the prior, and happily, quite similar. Savory, saline, with suggestions of forest pine. Quite deep and dark, with good acidity. Very enjoyable over three nights, gassed in between.

After PnP this is quite subdued and could not stand up to some spicy biryani — if you’re hoping for acidity, maybe try a different bottle or, as we found, give this extra air.
The acidity actually brightened up after about 30-60 minutes. Aroma still a little hidden but after the meal this is turning into a nice sipper — and the spouse is happy, so all is right with the universe.

2.5 years after the prior: Again, and as expected, this was beautifully balanced. Dark fruit, savory, with suggestions of white ground pepper. Lovely acid backbone. Highly enjoyable over three nights.

Very pleasant and easy drinking. Light in body and flavor, but nicely balanced, and there is just enough acidity to keep it interesting. The flavor is light cherry, with the slightest hint of oak.

Of the earlier vintages I've tasted of this "Mid-Elevation" Mendo Ridge appellation designate from Drew, I would say the wines clearly stood apart (and less than) the premier, higher-cost vineyard-specific Drew offerings. In the case of this 2019 instantiation, I'm not so sure I could clearly order this bottling so clearly "beneath" its upper classmen. Certainly, this was the best of the Mid-Elevation bottles I've tasted to date, and I'm fairly certain I've tasted all the purchasable vintages heretofore. There was a purity, elegance, and length to the bottle with no off-flavors or harsh corners. If this holds true across the spectrum of bottles from this vintage/bottle-designate, I would say this has to be the greatest QPR from Drew to date. 2019 is proving to be a landmark vintage for the region, and Drew's releases in particular bare the hallmarks worthy of this praise.
