  • Extremely light straw color and no legs. Nose of citrus, light rubber, and some phosphate. The sweetness is only hinted at, as this is somewhat astringent and bitter on the palate with the alcohol showing through to a disjointed finish. Some burn on the throat and very tart aftertaste. More like a fino than a Riesling. Followed for two days open and it didn't move an inch in any direction. Perhaps it's just over the hill 4+7+6+4 = 71

  • 12.5% alcohol. Just a delight. Slate and peach on the nose. In the mouth, racy and intense, with excellent concentration and purity. It lives up to its name in that regard. Bright acidity. Long finish. This is fantastic. A-

  • 12.5% alcohol. As with the other bottles, this is just as advertised -- pure. This had a bit more noticeably oily texture to it than I remember in previous bottles; I think that's because of the wines surrounding it. It was interesting to see the additional characteristics come out. Lovely stuff. A-

  • 12.5% alcohol. Such pure and delicious stuff. Just like the last bottle, although I feel like I have a much better idea of what its identity is. It is pure Riesling, but instead of that pleasing sweetness at the back of a Kabinett or Spatlese, this wine gives you a continuing acidic bite, with a finish that strongly emphasizes minerals. Beautiful stuff. A-

  • 12.5% alcohol. This is such a great picture of bone-dry Riesling. Crisp and slate-like on the nose, with plenty of minerals, citrus, and some stony peach. In the mouth, brace yourself -- it's so stony and marvelously refreshing. Deeply concentrated fruit that unfolds citrus and peach in a way that's different from Sauvignon Blanc. This is crisper, more angular but in a good way. Superb acidity. Wonderfully tart and refreshing finish. You could drink this by the gallon, even in extreme heat. A-
