The Fourth Annual World’s Largest Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir: Retail $28. Under screw cap. I liked this slightly better last year, but this is holding up quite well. Dark in color with a heavy dose of meatiness and salinity. Quite tart and tannic in this lineup, with a minimal amount fruit. I really would like to think that this will evolve over time, but will it?
Soft around the edges but plenty of flavor. Vanilla & cinnamon pop immediately out of the glass, followed by touches of spice and raspberry. Light-bodied and pleasant.

Pours a nice crimson. The nose was tight so I let it breathe in a wide glass for about an hour and a half. The nose is ripe cherry and pomegranate with a bit of plum skin. I also get a hint of cherry cola, some baking spice, cupcake icing, and crushed leaves. On the palate, the wine is light in body with a medium to medium plus acidity and round tannins. Ripe strawberry and pomegranate as well as spice on the palate with a long finish. This is drinking well now but can sit for another two or three years and show well. This should pair well with pork chops or a nice slice of Neapolitan pizza.
