The long time since the last note has made a big positive difference to this wine. The nose is probably the highlight for me. Crushed raspberries and violets. (Cork perfect) The palate is sour cherries and parma violets but quite shallow so you have to keep drinking to maintain the flavour :) Definitely old world; just a touch too lean and still astringent.

Alcohol: 12.5% Acidity: tart Tannin – moderate, but perceptible tannins Price: $16.99 Aromas – Weak to Moderate Intensity. raspberry, black cherry, light herbal tea and cinnamon Color – Moderate depth, crimson Flavor –Medium Dry, Medium bodied. Weak to Moderate Flavor intensity. sour cherry, cranberry, mineral tones, white peppercorn Finish: Medium finish
Notes: Old world style Burgundy. Aroma was of raspberry and a little dark fruit and a light herbal tea. Touch of cinnamon, reminded me of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Nose was very muted. Taste was of ripe sour cherry, and tart cranberry. Wine was very tart and sour. Made your mouth pucker like biting into a lemon wedge. Mineral water like taste came out on the mid-palate and finished with a little white peppercorn action. Fruit were also muted. Acidity was a high. Especially with the sour and tart flavors going on. Perhaps the fruit if better could have really helped this pinot, but got overwhelmed. Found this very awkward and not very well balanced. Tannin was more noticeable than I typically associate with a Burgundy. This was actually nice, it was more the acidity, sweetness and fruit that seemed out of whack. It was a touch more enjoyable when paired with food, but all in all this would be a definite pass for me in the future.
