  • 100% Loire Valley Pinot Noir. Dark (almost totally opaque) red color. Earthy nose of mushroom and forest floor with hints of black cherry/berry fruit and violets. The palate is full of ripe red and black berry fruit with touches of mushroom, cola, nutmeg and minerals. Long finish with medium body and bright acidity. Pretty bold and funky.

  • From 75cl, perfect cork, P+P, best on opening and just over cellar temperature. Tell-tale dusty brownish hue hails the slightly stale, hefty, stewed-fruit entry with just-recognizable pinosity, low-acid, low-transparency (in fact: low-everything you actually want from a PN.) Rustic, dark-fruited mid-palate, grainy and coarse-textured, buffered by hot 14% alc. Better than I remember the 2017 tasting at a slightly younger age, but still not a candidate for rebuying, even at approx. 12 EUR German retail. 85-86P
