  on opening: plummy, smokey, alcoholic nose,
  
  first sip: spicy in taste, acidity and tannin both pronounced, milky/vanilla mid-palette,
  
  second sip: (really) spicy - pepper corn, acidity on the side - not forward, lingering acidity,
  
  (after about 15 min) 3rd sip: some fruit is showing in mid-taste, slight chalky,
  
  Sweet bell pepper, slight leathery <- merlot more dominant, spicy
