  Deep dark purple, pretty opaque and dense. The nose and palate are all black fruit, a bit of licorice or anise, and some cool climate earthiness (Santa Rita Hills fruit). I expected more from this -- it was decent, but not stunning or very complex. Pretty big too -- not super food-friendly although it did just fine with a grilled rib-eye. Have several more of these and will probably drink them sooner than later -- I don't think it's going anywhere good, but it's not yet going downhill at all either.
