  From 75cl screwcap, P+P. Exemplary concentrated Rheingau trocken, a wine which might once have been designated "Spätlese trocken". I wouldn't have guessed this as a Hochheimer in a blind tasting—it could have been an unusually good offering from Schloss Johannisberg or possibly Robert Weil. Chapeau! This is pure, in perfect balance, just lacking the earthy spice or sultry apricot fruit that might have suggested one of Künstler's home sites. Excellent now, should continue to improve for several years to some. 90P(+)

  the wine is clear, medium yellow core with a thin watery rim, youthfull
  
  Nose is clean, medium+ intense aromas of lemon, ripe peach, gravel, greene apples, quite floral, youthfull
  
  Palate is dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, body and medium+ flavour intensity and dry-extract, aromas of peach, lemon and lemon peel, greene apples, gravel like minerals, very floral, some tropical fruit or honey, medium long finish
  
  Well balanced, medium finish dominated a b it by a bitterness like lemon peel or unripe grapefruit and this is the biggest drawback for me on this wine, intense acidity, medium complex and good concentration. all in all a very good quality 88-89p
