  • PnP, chilled. A clear light to medium yellow in the glass. A solid, but not rousing, medium bodied Chablis that showed minerality, lemon citrus and some light stone fruits. The acidity was fresh and palate cleansing which worked well with a fish filet in a butter and white wine sauce. Should hold for some years.

  • Air France Business Class - from the famed Co-op of Chablis pooling production from a myriad of producers and known to be one of the best such cooperatives in France. I believe this sees new oak. Most Chablis vintages are now leaning 'hot' but while not classic I have liked all the 19s I have had. There is a nice slate, mineral component to this. Perfectly serviceable affordable Chablis.

  • Light yellow clear - limestone, citrus, and white orchard fruits in that order - rather concentrated for the level. Nice juice with typicity.

  • Disappoonting. Kind of generic chard. Some lemon, some butter, ok acidity. No Chablis specific character imo. Bummer.

  • La Chablisienne (Chablis): Established in 1938, The Chablis appellation represents 65% of the production of Chablis wines. The major base comes from the Jurassic, more precisely the Kimmeridgian (some 150 million years ago) and we find in the rock tiny oyster deposits that remind us of the warm and shallow sea that then covered this territory. These comma-shaped oysters are called Exogyra virgula.

La Sereine comes from vine of average 30 years of age, vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks. This shows clean and mineral side of Chablis. Some woodsy and brioche notes but overall nice fruits and ready to drink now.
