Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Rich dark wood varnish color! Complex and layered bouquet of cooked raisins, cinnamon, maple syrup, reduced nectarines to the point of being a syrup and toasted almonds. Very robust mouthfeel that reminds me of a port. The palate has just a wave of caramel that hits you right off the bat, followed by oranges, slight butterscotch, ginga (Portuguese cherry liquor), flowers and apricot. A little to astringent for my taste, but an overall good wine! 4/5

  • Diluted brown syrup in color, this wine jumps out of the glass with a nose of light acetone that blows off to wood varnish and sawdust. Maple syrup creeps in and continues to get stronger as it sits in the glass with baked hazelnut aromas and cobweb laden basement. Medium body with a light acidity and full mouth feel. Baked raisin, caramel, tart cherry, and a long finish that brings, cinnamon notes, caramel, and orange zest. Lingering and delightful! 4/5
