This was my second bottle of 87 and the wine has really come into its sweet spot. Deep, dark fruitiness with high notes of cherry. Nothing jammy or extracted, however, just PV dark deliciousness. Long finish with notes of chocolate. Refined, balanced & powerful. Instead of decanting , I poured some wine out of the bottle & then back in & let the bottle sit open a few hours before dinner. The wine is ready to go now & was excellent with pork tenderloin in a soy marinade. I plan to revisit the last of my other wines from this presumed producer.

This wine opens with chocolate, thyme, vanilla bean, and blue fruits, though can be light at times. Good oak aging profile here that will hopefully coalesce with age. There was just a little something missing here, hard to put my finger on, perhaps a lack of complexity or finish. But, it is a quality wine and a good value, just not my speed.

Nose is tight, can maybe tease out dark fruit but also appreciate oak. Palate is light and elegant, not typical of how PV is usually made. Good balance of acid and tannin. Finish shows oak, some rocky mineral, and smooth red florals and fruit.
Nothing exciting or mind blowing here. Certainly a good weeknight wine but that’s about what it is.
Drink now or hold for another year or two. No reason to wait.

Very tasty. Rich and dark in the glass, medium body, fruity aromas - a little mouthwatering. I would agree with the description - rich, smooth and juicy with lots of fruit although not sweet. and not terribly tannic. Honestly, this was just really good and goes well with an array of foods/flavors.
I liked it and happy to have a few more.
