  • This has an unusual “shiny” fragrance. Lots on the nose but I can’t come up with better adjectives. On the palate its all bright red fruit, soft, yet big tannins and a relatively short finish. This is an easy-drinking wine that will appeal to many people. It’s much less serious than it’s bigger brother, the Juan Gil Monastrell Silver Label, and only 2/3 the price. This is an appealing easy to drink red wine with pizza. I think it’s a bargain, yet I’d rather pay the extra $5 for the Silver Label bottling.
