Medium gold and pours thickly into the glass. this smells of caramel and apple and a little free sulphur. This tastes of lemon, apple vanilla and is quite rich. Slightly bitter and obvious oak on the finish. This the Bouchard bottling for Sous Commanderie de Calgary.

Medium yellow. Nose is about oak, vanilla, coconut, orchard fruit and anise. But mainly oak. Palate is the same. I admit disappointment in the bottling which was raised and bottled by Bouchard. This is about 1/4 premier Cru and 3/4 village level juice so, i suggest it should be made with a modest oak imprint. I will leave the other bottles for a year or two before rendering another judgement. The other experienced tasters around the table didn’t agree it was unbalanced by too much time in new oak
