wow. Great wine. This shiraz and a few others from McLaren Vale (especially Shingleback prior to the sale of the winery) have shaken my previous position that I prefer Barossa shiraz. This wine is just so smooth and long and everything a good shiraz should be. Absolutely adored by all present at lunch.

Colour Impenetrable inky black in colour with a very deep dark red black hue, purple flashes Nose intense aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum, dark cherry red liquorice and dark chocolate vanillin oak spice ,star anise excellent layers and balance 28/30 Palate full bodied rich luxurious fruit blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruit. Vanillin oak, mocha, dark bitter chocolate . silky velvet mouthfeel but intense tannin and acidity in good balance extended finish - seemless 42/44 overall didn't pick this as Mclaren due to the dark chocolate which i associate with Barossa , well we live and learn , fabulous wine from a cracker of a year 2018 11/11
