Ripe blueberries, ripe blackberries, ripe black cherries, dried bay leaf, dried rosemary, tobacco, smoked wood and green bell pepper on the nose. Overall smells elegant and "soft". Honestly, from the nose it could almost be a hot vintage right bank Bordeaux. The palate betrays its origins. It adds dark chocolate and vanilla, but keeps the fruit, which change into the over ripe category. Very generous and giving, with a good balance between fruit and oak. This palate feels typical for Paso in a great way. Intensity of aromas and flavors are both medium +.
Full body with medium acid and medium mellow tannins. Long lingering finish. Drink now. I have mixed feelings on some of Lohr's other wines; but this is worth trying for anyone.

Med+ intensity nose of ripe blackberry, blueberry and oak. Initial sips were plum, blackberry, cassis, and vanilla. This opened up nicely with oak, tart blackcurrant and a medium vanilla and tobacco finish.
Not as sweet as it smelled, med+ bodied, great balanced tannins and supple acidity. Very nice mouthfeel.
A more premium offering from J Lohr, and this was well worth the price. Will be buying another for later and will certainly sip again.
