Olive Garden Party (Cristal vertical) (Chicago, IL): Yeah... definitely not my cup of tea. Like drinking Gerolsteiner with insane acids. Chewy and textural, which I like, but overall lacking breadth and weight on the palate.

I poured off a glass and let this open up a bit before really getting into it. That really helped as this has some raw power behind it with tones of red apples, pears, ginger, dough, biscuits, jasmine, crushed rocks, saline, and pastry notes. The Medium bodied feel is balanced and deep with a good bit of polish while the high acidity has a bit of sharpness to it as well. This is gorgeous and polished already and there is certainly some room for it to grow. It doesn't necessarily need a lot of down time, but 3+ years certainly won't hurt.

Much better than the last bottle. Higher tone fruit, rich mid palette, good concentration backed by good acidity.

A little thinner and more hollow in the mid-pallet then I thought.
