Clean, crisp, fresh and floral, this had grapey flavours and reminded me of a dry Muscat. A real crowd pleaser but not my preferred style as it's a little too flowery and lacks dimension. CHP 86+pts

I really enjoyed the 2019 Altano branco (excellent value) and was excited to try the this new vintage. Again a field blend of local varieties, dominated by Malvasia Fina and Moscatel Galega. Very pale gold in the glass. The nose is super fresh and very expressive with salty pink grapefruit, orange peel, passionfruit and guava all jumping out amongst other tropical notes. The palate is lively, zesty and almost crystalline with absolutely mouthwatering and precise acidity. This doesn't have the texture or depth of fruit of the 2019 but it's still very enjoyable and perfectly balanced. This will work very well as an aperitif on the kind of sweltering day the Douro Valley often provides. Indeed it's hard to believe such a fresh, crisp white can be produced there. Lovely stuff.

Pale yellow/green color, slow small legs. On the nose stome fruit, peach, pear and hints of citrus. Good acidity, some stone fruit and more citrus. Slightly oaky, medium finish, slightly bitter ending.

Asparagus and gooseberries... blind I would swear it's sauvignon blanc.
