  • Beautiful dried hibiscus, rhubarb tarte, garrigue and paprika on the nose. Underripe cranberry and pomegranate on the palate, with mushroom and stemmy flavors. Very bitter through the midpalate which has a medium body, firm spine, seems like this would shine on the dinner table. Subtle alcohol and hazelnut on finish. Odd wine, might just be young and tight right now. Haven’t had much experience with Tavel to be fair.

  • Tasted blind. Medium salmon color. Shows aged notes on opening like candied apple and butterscotch, and red licorice. Streamlines with air into more zesty cherry and stone fruit, with orange blossom and minerals. Zesty palate, also showing bruised aged notes. Adding animal notes like leather to its licorice, spices, red florals and minerals. Moderate acid, fleshy structure and decent depth on the finish.
