  • Just a quick impression, but this is a very pleasant Viognier which has typical apricot led fruit and no particular detracting phenolic grip. The finish is quite crisp and clean. Priced under €13 here in France the value is excellent.

  • I've been a fan of Domaine Gassier for a while now but this bottling was new to me. 100% organic Viognier bottled under IGP label. Light gold as it sits in the glass. The nose displays beautiful clarity with yellow peach, apricot, caramelised citrus, blood orange, fresh flowers and lavender all wafting up. The palate is totally balanced and refined, sumptuously textured and with absolutely mouthwatering acidity. In many ways this comes across like a baby Condrieu, only fresher and a little crisper. Straight up this is one of the best values I've had in ages and I drink a lot of Southern France whites. Available for under £15 in the UK. Buy it by the case, drink now.
