  - Crimsom color with medium forming legs with a medium/full body - This bottle was from the era when the CA wine growers were trying to popularize Meritage. I don't think Meritage took off the way the wine growers would have wanted, but this De Lorimier Meritage was a very nice surprise. I expected it to be past optimal drinking age, but it turned out to be a surprisingly delightful accompaniment to leftover Beef Wellington leftovers from Christmas dinner.
