Violets, lavender, dark plum compote, tart dark cherry, vanilla, earthy carmelized sweet potato, orange zest, baking spice, herbs de Provence, pepper. Full body. Not jammy. Good acid. Delicious. Paired well with Chile Verde. Young and drinking beautifully.

Just an excellent wine! Nose of violets and meats, with savory whafts that round back to the sharp Vionier floral. It's beefy and chewy with an massively enjoyable savory core surrounded by ripe, luscious blackberry and mullberry finishing with exotic spices and fantastic texture. It reminds me of Chave Hermitage or Gonon St. Joseph during very ripe years. A similar counter part might be found from Wells Guthrie in his Chave clone from Medocino. It's Northern Rhone esc and I can't see how it can get much better than this. I don't rate wines anymore but this is a 98 for sure. Near darn perfect. Can't wait to see this in 7 years.
There’s cooling mint of tobacco exhalation. So much going on. That fruit holds secrets. It won’t give those up for years, but right now it’s incredibly enjoyable. This might be the best Big Basin wine I’ve ever had. It’s on par with what Rhys is doing. The absence of new oak is just marvelous. The 100% whole cluster fermentiation was the right choice here. Those stem tannins lend meaty savory notes that are very endearing. There’s a green touch, tomato juice essence, dense and meaty with savory all over each sip. Fantastic cuvee.
Baking spices come out, delish unctuous and an amazing value.
110 cases means that this is a unicorn! It will not last long. Better buy yours now while you still can. I bought two cases, and will paint a series with it as it might be the best Syrah from California, on par with what Christophe Baron is doing up north.

Dark purple color, and big intense smoky flavors. I really liked this but caveat emptor this is not for those who prefer a lighter style

Love those dark tarry notes!
The highs of floral and the depths of tar make this a joy to drink!
Excellent.
Quality organic/biodynamic cuvee!
