So this was a different Pinot Gris than I am used to. It seemed a little “off” on Day 1 and wasn’t sure if it was because it was already 5 years old. Even after giving 30 min of air it still wasn’t what I expected. But on Day 2 it was much better. Still not as acidic as what I normally look for in a Pinot Gris. Also the color was closer to a Chardonnay than a Pinot Gris with a much more golden hue.

Popped and poured. DIAM cork. Slightly funky aroma of apples and herbs. Petrol and peach flavors up front, mellow pear finish. Firm backbone, some complexity, good staying power. Has the pinot gris bite. Excellent wine, outstanding QPR.

A very rare disappointment from Goodfellow. Not bad, just not a lot of interest. Should have been consumed earlier, is my guess.
