2019 vintage drank in 2024, benefited from breathing several hours. Enjoyable wine tasting of dark berries, some bitterness at opening but smoothed out over time.

Full of character, definitely a phenomenal experience to drink. At open, nose offers strong notes of red fruit with an alcoholic tinge; palate is full with fruit with quite sharp astringency and acidity. Full-bodied, well-rounded, it really comes into its own after 40-60 minutes of aeration, as the tannins smooth out and let strong notes of perfectly ripe cherry dominate the palate, alternating between soft fruity notes and a balancing, subtle bitterness, similar to slightly unripe black cherry. Fruity finish, with light astringency and a delicate spicy note of black pepper. Perfect to pair with tomato-based sauces, goes brilliantly with spaghetti and meatballs.
Had it at a blind wine tasting. Of the 4 bottles in my opinion it was the best, finished second overall. Four countries represented: USA, France, Spain, and Italy with this one. Nice aromas & flavors of light cherries and strawberry. Smooth with a decent finish. Nicely crafted by the wine maker. I agree fully with the food pairings listed (good job!).
