  • Decanted for 2 hours prior to tasting. Nice ruby color. The nose shows elegant aromas of ripe summer berries, minerals, flowers, tobacco, leather and a hint of herbs. This is almost full bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and excellent class. The fairly long finish features chalky tannins and a saline note.

  • After 3 hours in decanter:
Beautiful nose of sour cherry, old, cedar closet, spice box and pine forest floor. Medium-bodied, this has loads of pine forest floor, wood and black cherry. The palate is quite drying with copious tannin and medium acidity.

After 4 hours: This REALLY opened up after a bite of pastured, uncured bacon. Really mollified the tannins and added richness to the palate.

After 5 hours: I really want to bump this up to 93,but not entirely sure it's warranted. Drink 2025-2032 92

  • Double-decanted about 4 hours ago.
Beautiful nose of sweet black berry preserves and black cherries, pine forest sous bois and pot-pourri. Spice box. Medium,-full bodied, this is just fantastic! Loaded with super ripe black cherries and brambles, spice, decaying pine needles and a hint of chocolate and wood spice. This is absolutely delicious right now (even right after double-decantation, it tasted pretty great) and should drink well until age 12-15. Drink now-2030 93 df 9.4
